Nana Addo Is Deceiving Himself By Going To The Volta Region - Koku Anyidoho

The Flagbearer of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akufo Addo, has begun a campaign tour dubbed “Rise Up and Build” in the Volta region but the Deputy General Secretary of the ruling NDC, Koku Anyidoho has concluded it is a mission in futility.

He says the people of the Volta region are not fools to forget that Nana Akufo-Addo on his trip to London described Volta region as a hostile region towards the NPP and coming back to start his “rise up and build” tour in the same region is self-deception which will not yield result in the future for the party.

Presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, yesterday made a triumphant entry into the Volta Region, the stronghold of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).

He was accompanied by his running mate, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia; National Organiser of the party, John Boadu; National Women’s Organiser, Otiko Afisa Djaba; Volta Regional Chairman, John Peter Amewu; Volta Regional Organiser, Makafui Kofi Woanya; Volta Regional Secretary, Joseph Hoemenyah; Deputy Director of Communications, Perry Okudzeto; former Minister of State, Elizabeth Ohene and Ambassador Amesimeku.

The rest included former 3rd National Vice Chairperson of the NPP, Mrs Agnes Okudzeto; former Volta Regional Chairman, Kenwuud Nuworsu; former Volta Regional Minister, Kofi Dzamesi; former Advisor to President John Agyekum Kufuor, Tommy Amematekpor; another former Volta Regional Minister, Kwasi Owusu Yeboah and former Volta Regional Organiser, Johnson Avulate, among others.

His message to the chiefs and people of the region was cut out and simple – bridging the gap between the NPP party and the Volta as a region and Voltarians as a people; promising the NPP is “determined to make the Volta Region the centre of our country’s rebirth under an Akufo-Addo government,” when God-willing, the people give him the mandate to serve the nation from January 2017.

But Koku Anyidoho on Okay Fm’s "Ade Akye Abia" Morning Show says the NPP is conceited and they can never pretend that they love Voltarians as a people.

He added that the fact that the NPP has visited Volta region does not mean Voltarians will vote them back into power because there is a pending comment made by Kennedy Agyapong that is still in the minds of Voltarians which Nana Akufo-Addo has not condemned on any platform.

“If Kennedy Agyapong says Ewes and Gas should be killed and up till now, Nana Addo has not condemned his statement, you think Ewes are fools; we will only watch you…the day he will be able to condemn Kennedy Agyapong, Ewes will be convinced that he has our interest at heart,” he chided.

“But to the extent that he is quiet over it that Ewes and people of Ga should be killed, nobody can convince the people of Volta region to vote for him…Nana Akufo-Addo is deceiving himself,” he added.

“NPP don’t like Ewes and they have never liked us; they consider themselves as superiors and other tribes are inferiors. They always find ways to remind us that we are not fit to lead this country; this is their DNA, they can never change,” Koku Anyidoho fumed.
