The messages that are coming out of the New Patriotic party (NPP) clearly indicate that the party is not ready for power in 2016.

For, how can elements in a political party which is serious about capturing power in the next election claim that their leaders have been bought by the ruling party?

If indeed, the leaders of the NPP are so corrupt that they can be bought with petty gifts of Toyota land Cruisers, then why should anybody vote for them?

The other day another group in the party which appeared determined to smear their own national organizer put out the false claim that he had stolen campaign funds to buy himself a car.

It is from the centre of the same party that the false allegation that the national party chairman is a drug dealer is made.

There have been even more serious allegations leveled against former president J.A. Kufuor, Mr. Kwadwo Mpianin, Nana Akufo-Addo and many others in the party by its own members and loyalists.

What is worse is that it appears that some party leaders and activists have now mastered the art of secretly recording sensitive party meetings and discussions for public consumption.

It may even appear that they have turned this bizarre past time into a full time business.

The NPP has to realize that with this strange conduct of some of its leaders and activist’s power will surely elude it in 2016.

If the NPP wants to win the elections then these mercenaries in its ranks ought to change or be change.
