A YOUTH group, calling itself Concerned Youth of Nsawam Adoagyiri in the Eastern Region is calling on President John Mahama to reappoint the immediate past Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Nsawam-Adoagyiri Municipal Assembly, Mark Amoako-Dompreh.

The group said Mr Amoako-Dompreh had done enough to merit another term in office hence President Mahama should give him another opportunity to continue with more developmental projects in the Nsawam-Adoagyiri Assembly.

According to the group, Mr. Amoako-Dompreh has managed to clear the debts of the Assembly amounting to about GH¢92,000, brought peace within the municipality, and constructed some roads among others.

They further added that, with him the ruling party can win the Nsawam-Adoagyiri seat based on the developmental projects he had embarked on.

The group further explained that the Ex-MCE was the only government official at the Assembly who never took government vehicle home after work or used it for his personal errands hence the need to give him another term to serve the people for more votes.

In a statement to the DAILY HERITAGE, the group said the MCE also lives within the municipality, down to earth and easily accessible.

The statement also indicated that changing the MCE would not augur well for the Municipality and the National Democratic Congress because Mr. Amoako-Dompreh commands a lot of votes due to his humility.

The MCE and one other recently handed over the administration of their assemblies to the Eastern Regional Minister, Antwi-Bosiako Sekyere after their first four-year term of office expired.

The Regional Minister congratulated the two MCEs for their distinguished services to the assemblies and the nation at large.

Mr. Antwi-Bosiako said ending their term of office does not mean their work has come to an end and observed that, they are a resource, which would be tapped by the government and the ruling party.

Mr. Antwi-Boasiako advised them to remain calm and wait for the President's next decision on them since he is the only person with the prerogative to hire and fire MCEs.
