The Board Chairman of Intercontinental Bank Ghana, Dr. Godfried Kportufe Agama, has been reported dead after a short illness. He was a former Governor of the Bank of Ghana, a position he held from 1988 to1997 and was reputed as the longest serving Governor.
Family sources and officials of Intercontinental Bank Ghana confirmed Dr. Agama�s sad passing to Myjoyonline and said an official statement would soon be issued. Dr. Agama�s outstanding contribution to the financial services sector was recognized recently when he was honoured with the second most prestigious award of Ghana, the Companion of the Order of the Volta.
