Kunbuor Inspects Equipment For Peacekeeping

The Minister of Defence, Benjamin Kumbuor, has paid a day’s working visit to the Infantry Battalion and Reconnaissance Regiment of the Ghana Armed Forces to inspect equipment acquired for its external peacekeeping operations.

Some of the equipment were excavators, Land Cruiser pickups, water tankers, Jeeps, armoured vehicles, and many more.  These equipment also came with backup spare parts for their regular maintenanceThe Minister, in a brief comment, expressed his satisfaction for the newly-acquired equipment, and was hopeful it will enhance the Ghana Armed Forces Peace Support Operation, and also ensure the protection of troops.

The Director General responsible for Plans, Research and Development at the General Headquarters, Air Commodore Wayoe, who led the inspection, requested the Minister to assist the Ghana Armed Forces establish a modern workshop for the proper maintenance of these equipment.

Present at the visit were the Chief Director at the Ministry of Defence, Mr. Alidu Fuseini, Commodore Anim, Principal General Staff Officer, Colonel Gyane, Deputy Director Plans, Research and Development, Colonel Adorkor, Director Army Liaison, Colonel Issahaku, Director Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (EME), and other senior officers.
