Kwabena Agyapong Subjected Himself To Public Ridicule; Leaders Don't Talk Anyhow

Mr. Ayisi Boateng, a founding member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has rubbished Kwabena Agyei Agyapong’s claim that some people are disrespecting his office as the General Secretary.

According to him, Kwabena Agyapong brought his own office up for public ridicule when he granted media interviews on happenings in the party.

Speaking on Okay FM’s "Ade Akye Abia" Morning Show, Mr. Ayisi Boateng reminded his party’s Chief Scribe to focus on his duties as the General Secretary rather than going on an accusation spree.

He pointed out that there are mechanisms in the party for him [Agyapong] to deal with people he has issues with.

He is bringing his own office into public ridicule; he is ridiculing himself because a leader must not talk anyhow; we have structures in the party. Instead of focusing on his duties, he is rather accusing and suspecting people of something which does not exist; it is not good and we have to condemn it…he should drag people to the disciplinary committee if he has issues with them,” he chided.

If he is complaining of the cartoon in the media made of him, what of his statement in the media? How many people have the habit of reading from the newspapers? If you have the mechanism to deal with your detractors in the party, he should do so,” he urged.

He revealed that some party faithfuls have regretted voting out Sir John as the General Secretary of the NPP; confessing that Sir John is missed in the party as he rather will attack the NDC and not his own party members.

He therefore bemoaned and called for the cessation of the everyday noise in the party as Ghanaians are worried of recent happenings in the NPP; asking “why is it that we cannot resolve our internal problem?”

If you are the family head, you should call the family members together to resolve differences…this is why Nana Addo has kept quiet because whatever he says, people will read meanings into it. We are living with suspicion and mistrust and so you see your brother as an enemy or demon,” he bemoaned.
