Dont Disqualify Any Aspirant Tema West NPP Warned

Some New Patriotic Party (NPP) delegates in the Tema West Constituency are cautioning the vetting committee members of the party not to disqualify any aspiring parliamentary candidate within the constituency.

They warned that any attempt to disqualify any aspirant would be fiercely opposed by the delegates and constituents.

At a news briefing in Tema, the delegates threatened to throw their weight behind the National Democratic Congress (NDC) should any aspirant be disqualified.

The constituency organizer, Young Arhin who addressed the media called on the party hierarchy to put in place measures to address their concerns before the worst happens in the Tema West constituency.

“We the delegates are sending out a very strong signal that any attempt to disqualify any of the contestants will be fiercely resisted. We expect the party officials to anticipate the consequences of any attempted disqualification which could lead to confusion and inactive participation in the electioneering process.

“In the interest of NPP and our resolve to win power in 2016, we kindly advise the vetting committee to be fair to all candidates. This press conference is an advance notice to the regional and national headquarters,” he said.

Some party delegates who shared their concerns with Citi News after the press conference threatened to resign from the NPP should there be a disqualification of any candidate.
