NPP Youth Root For Aspiring MP

Scores of youth of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Okaikoi North constituency of the Greater Accra region have declared their unflinching support for aspiring parliamentary candidate, Issah Fuseini.

The support by the youth comes in the wake of who can best replace the party’s incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) for the area, Mrs. Elizabeth Sackey, who has since made her intention not to contest again.

At the close of nominations on Thursday, April 30, 2015 at the Okaikoi North NPP office, Today gathered that four people including Mr. Fuseini had filed their nominations ahead of the party’s parliamentary primaries in June this year.

The other three candidates, this paper learnt, were a businessman, Mr. Seth Adjei Baah; Managing Editor,Searchlight newspaper, Kenneth Adjei Kuranchie, and; a former constituency treasurer, Ms. Francisca Ayorkoh Boateng.

Among the four aspirants, the youth who were obsessed about the candidature of Mr. Fuseini called on the rank-and-file of the Okaikoi North constituency to rally behind him so as to increase the electoral fortunes of the party in the area in the 2016 polls.

Describing him as a “home boy” who has served the constituency for over twenty-one (21) years, the ecstatic youth told Today that Mr. Fuseni’s election would bring more votes to the NPP in the constituency.

“Considering his background as a professional Chartered Accountant and Investment Banker, we have no doubt in our minds that he (Mr. Fuseini) will bring his expertise to bear to help strengthen the financial status of the constituency and the NPP as a whole,” the delighted youth indicated.

According to them, Mr. Fuseini fits into the demographics of Okaikoi North constituency as he is a Moslem and also a Ga.

That, the youth said, was enough to unite the party for victory in 2016.

Although they welcomed the inclusion of other contestants, they stressed that failure to elect Mr. Fusieni would affect the NPP’s chances of retaining the seat and also increasing the presidential votes of the party’s 2016 flag-bearer, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

“We cannot afford to lose this seat, and for that matter, we must ensure that Mr. Fuseini becomes our next parliamentary candidate for 2016 or else …” the youth cautioned.

In their estimation it would be a big mistake if the delegates ignore their wise counsel and elect a different person other than Mr. Fuseini.

They also alleged that some of the aspirants were going round doling out monies and gifts to delegates.

To this end, the youth advised the delegates to first think about their future and not necessarily what they would get today.

They also warned those aspirants to desist from that act since according to them, it would amount to nothing.
