Another nationwide demonstration is in the pipeline and would soon explode in the face of government if fuel prices are not reduced.

On the international market, the price of fuel sells cheap but this isn’t the case in Ghana and for this reason, the Movement for Change is ready to put government under pressure to do the right thing.

Head of communications for movement, Nana Boakye, in an interview with Peace FM stated that looking at the way the power crisis is crippling private businesses that depend on fuel for production; no one should have even informed government to salvage the situation by now.

“Looking at the way the power crisis is killing business, the idle thing for government to do is to reduce fuel prices for companies who depend on it to be able to function. On the international market, it has been reduced and this gives the government no reason to maintain the current prices”, he said.

Nana Boakye claims that when issues of fuel reduction were raised in the past, the Chief Executive of the National Petroleum Authority, Mr. Moses Asaga informed Ghanaians that because it owed the Bulk Distribution Companies (BDCs), it couldn’t afford to do that.

“But now he (Moses Asaga) says they have paid all the debts and if that is the case, why are the fuel prices still up”, he wondered.
