I Won't Be NDC's 2016 Running Mate...Won't Happen Today Nor Tomorrow - Mrs Rawlings

Former First Lady, Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, has refuted media reports that she has accepted to be the running mate to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flag bearer for the 2016 elections.

"Nothing has changed since 2008 and I still remain committed to the cause of the National Democratic Party (NDP),” she stated.

Nana Agyeman-Rawlings said this in response to concerns of members of the NDP at a meeting in Sunyani last Wednesday.

The members wanted to know from the former First Lady whether she was still committed to the NDP to enable them to make up their minds.

Nana Agyeman-Rawlings said leaders of the NDP had sworn an oath to lead the party and "we will not go in a different direction."

"I have not accepted to be NDC running mate for 2016. It is not going to happen today, neither will it happen tomorrow," Nana Agyeman-Rawlings said.

She pledged not to leave the NDP till the party achieved its set aims and objectives.

Nana Agyeman-Rawlings left the NDC after she lost the party's presidential primary towards the 2012 general election and later formed the NDP.

Her attempt to contest the 2012 election as the presidential candidate of the NDP did not materialise.
