The Brong Ahafo Regional MTTD Command of the Ghana Police Service has arrested two taxi drivers for over- loading their vehicles with 11 bags of pepper and a large quantity of plastic T&J. The police impounded the two vehicles-Toyota Corolla and Nissan Prado taxi cabs with registration numbers AS 6476 Z and GR 1503 X respectively at Abesim, near Sunyani. Briefing The Ghanaian Times, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) David Anyuah, Deputy Brong Ahafo Regional MTTD Commander, said two drivers, Kwaku Danso, 29 and Eric Kyere, 34, were processed for court on Monday, January 5, 2015. He said the drivers also had, in their possession, expired documents. ASP Anyuah said the operation, which led to the arrest of the two, was part of activities to ensure safety on the road during and after the festive season. He cautioned drivers who flout traffic regulations to desist from the practice to avoid being arrested by the police.
