His Excellency, President John Dramani Mahama has met and held discussions with Pope Francis at the Vatican. This is the first meeting between the two leaders. It follows Ghana�s appointment in 2013 of its first Ambassador to the Vatican, H.E. James K. Bebaako-Mensah. President Mahama is also expected to meet with the Secretary of State of the Vatican, Cardinal Peter Appiah Turkson. The president is accompanied by his wife, Lordina Mahama, the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hannah Tetteh, and representatives of the Ghanaian Catholic Community.
