NPP Youth Wants Nana Addo Acclaimed

The Greater Accra Youth Wing of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has re-echoed its quest for Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo to contest the elections unopposed saying, he should be acclaimed as the Presidential candidate for the party in the upcoming delegates congress in 18th October. Earlier this year, the same youth wing demanded that the party do not field any candidate apart from the 2012 presidential candidate, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, for Election 2016. It also called for the withdrawal of all competitors for the partys presidential primaries but their opinion was met with serious criticisms across the length and breadth of the country. But, at a press conference yesterday in Accra, the group led by the Greater Accra Youth organiser, Prince Obeng, indicated that they made those claims emphatically that Nana was the one Ghanaians yearn for and that majority of the delegates on the 31st August proved them right in their earlier submission. Even though he admitted that the super delegates constitutes one percent of the larger Electoral College, the youth organiser said their positions as National, Regional, Constituency and Senior members of the party gave credence to the assertion that they amplified the voices of the over 130, 000 polling station executives who will cast their ballot in the upcoming congress to determine who leads the NPP in 2016. We say this with the fullest conviction that Nana Akufo Addos vision is impeccable and relevant to the course Ghana urgently needs, he indicated. While wishing the other contestant luck, Prince Obeng commended Hon. Joe Ghartey and Kofi Osei Ameyaw for honorably bowing out of the race. According to him, subjecting the party to another contest that outcome is already known would be a complete waste of resources and also breed division, rancor and deepen animosity in the rank and file of the party. Please see wisdom in our youthful advice so we can send clear and loud message to President Mahama and his incompetent cohorts that we are united and ready to bring back hope and prosperity to Ghanaians, they pleaded with party leaders. He further pleaded and urged other aspirants to consider time and resources constraints and consciously bid their own time.
