Nana Akomea Applauds Joe Ghartey For Stepping Down

The former Member of Parliament for Okaikoi South has applauded Hon. Joe Ghartey for bowing out of the flagbearer race of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP). Joe Gharteys decision to step down shows a good political judgment, he said on NEAT 100.9 FM . Hon. Joe Ghartey, MP for Essikado-Ketan announced he will no longer contest for the flagbearer position in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) come October 18, 2014 after the Super Delegates Congress held last weekend. I promised the delegates that, first of all, despite whatever happens, I will not undermine the unity and integrity of the party. There is nothing like waste of money in politics...it is not about money please, and at the same time it is not about a waste of time because it is working for the party. I will continue helping the party in various ways. I am still a loyal member of the party. I will support whoever will emerge victorious as flagbearer. Whoever will emerge the winner after October 18, I will support him, he stated. Many leading members of the party has made the call for the three other candidates namely; Alan Kyerematen, Osei Ameyaw and Addai Nimoh to also throw in the towel by endorsing Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as the Presidential Candidate of the party. However, Nana Akomea has also joined the call for these three candidates to give up, giving the fact that the over 80% of the total vote cast is a true reflection of the wish of the party supporters. I am in support of those calling for the other candidates to stand downI used to think the claim that No Nana No Vote was orchestrated but from the election on Sunday, there is no way that could have been manipulated, he maintained.
