Brogya Gyamfi Hits Hard at NPP

NDC Communicator, Ernest Brogya Gyamfi has taken a swipe at the opposition New Patriotic Party members and leadership for registering their displeasure with the Mahama government's move to the International Monetary Fund (IMF). The Government of Ghana is seeking support from the IMF to instill confidence in the economy. The government aims at promoting foreign investment in the country and also resolving the steep depreciation in Ghana's currency as well as relieving Ghanaians of the current economic situation. But political figures on the opposition side, particularly the New Patriotic Party (NPP), have lambasted President John Mahama and his NDC government claiming they are rather seeking a "bailout" from the IMF. This notwithstanding, the NDC Communicator, Brogya Gyamfi told host of Peace FM's morning show "Kokrokoo" that the NPP has over the years counter every good move by the incumbent government. According to him, the NPP members tend to play down on any decision the government makes because they are 'power-drunk'. Everything has turned into political power. Political power! Even when a traffic light bulb goes out, they say were going to seek a bailout with the IMFThe timing shows that the government is on top of the issues and knows exactly what its seeking for to relieve us. It wont bring any hardships on us. " To him, the IMF deal is a step in the right direction and was therefore hopeful the deal will help relieve Ghanaians. He therefore questioned the NPP's line of arguments, saying "they should show us what they would have done if they were in government currently, whenever they say things like that.
