Mr. Ayariga, You Had It Wrong!

The Ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) seems to have officials who are so much interested in being heard on certain platforms making statements that would not help the party.

There are certain appointees who are so much happy to be heard on radio saying what they feels is god for them.

Some of them could be pardoned but when it involves no other minister than the Minister of Information and Media Relations, then there is a problem.

Mr. Mahama Ayariga was on Joy FMs Newsfile programme last Saturday and said that he was having a problem with the Minister of Finance and Economic Planning.

The Information Minister's problem with his colleague at the Finance Ministry is that Mr. Seth Terpker was being overly truthful with the state of the economy.

According to Mr. Ayariga, Mr. Terkpers position is creating problems for the communication team of the government.

It is surprising that being truthful on how things are going on in the country is now becoming a crime.

In any case, has the information minister approached the finance minister to state his position before going on his favorite Joy FM to say what he said?

With all respect, Mr. Ayariga, the President who appointed you, has always been truthful with the state of affairs on the economy, so is the President also making things difficult for you?

What is amazing is the fact Mr. Ayariga has always been present at various Cabinet meetings where critical economic issues are discussed and he could thus have used that avenue to put his case across.

Attacking Mr. Terpker for being truthful would go a long way to tune the minds of Ghanaians toward a particular direction that government was not putting right information out.

Like a team, all and sundry should work towards helping the President to succeed instead of saying things that would discredit the government.

Attacking Mr. Terpker for being truthful is akin to attacking President Mahama and the Vice President Amissah-Arthur because they have also been truthful with the state of the economy.

Times have changed and being truthful in politics is a huge plus because the electorate is discerning enough to know the truth from lies!
