Nana Addo Capable Of Winning Power For NPP...He Only Needs A Strong Team

Micheal Ampong, an aspiring National Youth Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) says the party's 2008/2012 flagbearer, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, still has the potential to win back power for the elephant fraternity after losing twice to the National Democratic Congress (NDC). To him, Nana Addo did not performed badly when he led the party in 2008 and 2012 presidential polls. He has been our (NPP) flagbearer on two occasions and I dont think he performed badly. In 2008, he (Nana Addo) lost narrowly, in fact the narrowest in the whole of Africajust less than 23, 000 votes. In 2012, there were lots of dispute surrounding the elections and even his margin was over 47%, he said. Nana Akufo-Addo, who will turn 70 on March 29, 2014, says he will for the third time contest to run for presidential election in 2016 on the ticket of the NPP at age 72 despite some arguments that he is too old from his opponent. In an interview with Peacefmonlone.com Micheal Ampong also known as Gyagbele opined that It will be wrong for one to say Nana Addo cannot perform for the NPP again. He however noted that, Nana Addo only needs a strong machinery behind him to work towards winning the 2016 elections. Mahama came in barely 5 months to the 2012 elections despite all the difficulties surrounding the Mills administration; he (President Mahama) won the election. This tells you that, the NDC put up a system. So with the NPP, it doesnt matter who is on board whiles the machinery is able to get its way, then we are going to win the elections. For now, we (NPP) should be looking more at the partys machinery than the messenger, he lamented.
