Tamale NPP Delegates Weep For Ntim

Some delegates of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Northern Region on Sunday broke down in tears after an emotional speech was delivered to them by Mr Stephen Ntim, a leading aspirant in the partys National chairmanship race in the forthcoming elections. The delegates who were so touched by Mr Ntims emotional message could not help but shed tears some of whom promised to vote for him to lead the party to wrestle power from the ruling NDC in 2016. The delegates explained that Mr Ntim had worked tirelessly for the party and deserved to be given the nod to lead the NPP to brighten its electoral fortunes. Mr Ntim said the NPP DNA was in him and he was not perturbed for serially contesting the Chairmanship position of the party, and likened his political situation to that of late Nelson Mandela and that he needed to be made national Chairman to rescue the NPP in 2016. He said he was the only true unifier within the party because he did not belong to any of the factions in the NPP, stressing that there were factions within the party, which was a mark of true democracy. Mr Ntim was addressing delegates in Tamale on Sunday to round off the first phase of his national campaign tour, which was begun in December last year. The aspirant who is also an ICT Systems Engineer, said factions within any political party was positive a development for the democratic progress, and stressed that factions were progressive to the positive movements of the party. He said he wanted to leave a legacy by bringing the NPP back to power in 2016, and explained that the biggest battle grounds for the party would be in the three northern regions and that of the Volta Region saying, When the party is able to win any of these regions and in our advantage regions, we will re-capture power from the NDC. He said with him as the Chairman of the NPP, the party would consolidate its strongholds and set targets for the other regions and win more seats to increase its electoral fortunes. He said the party was not going to gamble with the 2016 elections, but was going to win without any difficulty if he was given the nod as Chairman, and that sufficient funds would also be generated from various sectors to support party activities. Mr Ntim urged the other contestants to eschew politics of insults, and rather engage in politics of ideas to make the campaign free, fair and friendly. Alhaji Yussif Ahmed campaign Manager of Mr Stephen Ntim, said the aspirant had been tested and proven to be the best material to lead the party to the 2016 elections, and expressed the hope that NPP would win the 2016 elections. He claimed that Mr Ntim was the only candidate who had played positive roles in the past, and had donated 20 pickups for the activities of the party, noting that his vast experiences were undoubted.
