Tony Aidoo Was Totally Misquoted... He Never Said Govt Has Failed

After news broke that Ambassador-designate Dr. Tony Aidoo has accused government of making life less burdensome for Ghanaians, a member of government has jumped unto his defense blaming the media for twisting the facts. Myjoyonline.com was first to report the story but Yamoah Ponko, another staunch activist believes it is a deliberate attempt by the publishers to knock heads around within the National Democratic Congress (NDC). In an interview with Okay FM, the Municipal Chief Executive for Ejisu Juaben said that it feels sad to offer your opinion on issues and find news outlets publishing an entirely different thing. Dr. Tony Aidoo is reported to have said that government has failed in taking decisive steps to cap the leakages in the system, particularly at the revenue mobilisation points, which tend to cause the masses to suffer. The out-going Head of Policy Monitoring and Evaluation at the Office of the President on Wednesday urged government to backup and stop giving excuses for its inability to deliver what it promised Ghanaians. But Mr. Yamoah Ponko insists the former Deputy Defence Minister in the erstwhile Rawlings administration was misquoted and called on the NDC executives not to give credence to such publications which has the tendency to disintegrate the party.
