Akufo Addo�s Culture Of Periodic Health Check Must Be Emulated By Ghanaians

Aspiring National First Vice-Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Michael Omari Wadie wants Ghanaians to adopt the healthy lifestyle of the twice defeated Presidential Candidate of the opposition party, Nana Akufo Addo. According to Omari-Wadie, it is time Ghanaians break the culture of fear of visiting hospitals for check-ups as this attitude hinders any knowledge of their bad eating habits and unhealthy lifestyles. Speaking on the working conditions overseas, the former Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency Chairman averred on Okay Fm that it is more stressful working abroad and thus appealed to Ghanaians both abroad and in Ghana to adopt the culture of periodic health checks. ��..In Ghana, we lack and we cannot display the confidence to deal with our health issues and this attitude follows us abroad; because of our upbringing, visiting hospitals is not something we like to do always unless we are sick. What we eat is not fresh and does not come from good sources�...I said it that Nana Addo shown leadership quality by telling Ghanaians that periodic health check is a good practice that Ghanaians must emulate and not those who are afraid to tell Ghanaians of their health status,� he enlightened. Mr. Omari Wadie however advised companies to provide centers at the work places for their staff to often workout and keep fit. He further called on Ghanaians to halt the practice of waiting to fall sick before visiting hospitals and rather adopt the culture of periodic health check as this will make them more conscious of their health status.
