GYEEDA Scandal: Prosecute More People Sydney Casley-Hayford

A Financial Analyst, Mr. Sydney Casley-Hayford says more companies and individuals should be dealt with for the misappropriation of funds at the Ghana Youth and Entrepreneurial Authority (GYEEDA). In his opinion, although government had taken a bold step in charging Abuga Pele, it was just a tip of the iceberg since it still had more companies and individuals including the former Minister of Youth and Sports, Akua Sena Dansuah to hold accountable for financial malfeasance. In every instance the contract was signed by the Minister of Youth and Sports or the Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, so individuals such as Nana Akua Sena Dansuah , Kofi Humado, Nana Akomea, Osei Akoto among others should be interrogated accordingly, Mr. Casley-Hayford insisted. Speaking on Citi FMs News Analysis Programme, The Big Issue, M.r Casley- Hayford stated that the Ministry of Youth failed to monitor and evaluate transactions at the period when funds were misappropriated at GYEEDA. The Ministry of Youth and Sports was supposed to have oversight to monitor and evaluate transactions and this was never done. He remarked that although Abuga Pele witnessed most of the contracts that were signed during his term of office; he did not sign those contracts himself, According to him, the Attorney Generals department only decided to initiate investigations into the GYEEDA scandal after they were instructed by the President to do so, a situation he described as a failure in prosecutorial powers. Mr. Casley-Hayfords comments come on the back of governments decision to charge National Coordinator of GYEEDA, Abuga Pele and Managing Director of Goodwill Consultancy Firm, Philip Akpene Assibit for misappropriation of funds at GYEEDA.
