Appointment Of Dotse Malor Is Another Waste Of Space And Time - Mornah Fires

The issue of whether or not the appointment of Mr. Ben Dotse Malor is important has become a very controversial one for a while now. Most of the critics are not against the person of Mr Malor but the addition of a new position to the numerous appointments made by President John Dramani Mahama. According to the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), the appointment of Dotse Malor is not important and it is rather going to incur more cost to Ghanaians; especially taxpayers. Mr. Ben Malor, a former BBC presenter and a man who has served in various capacities at the United Nations, was appointed by President John Dramani Mahama as a Senior Communications Adviser and Head of Communications at the Presidency. Adding his voice to the critics who have condemned the appointment, General Secretary of the Peoples National Convention (PNC) has described it as a waste of space and time. "Why add another position when there are same or similar ones?" Bernard Mornah queried. My position on this issue is that it is unnecessary; its a waste of our space and waste of our time. We have a minister for information and two deputies. We also have communicators at the presidency and apart from that, the President himself is an expert in communication. There are daily briefings every day at the presidency which is part of churning out information. The implication of this is that they are not doing their work well and so all of a sudden the President needs an expert to handle his communication...The president doesnt owe anybody an explanation but I think that something is wrong, Bernard opined on Thursday's edition of 'Kokrokoo'.
