PNC Activist Cautions NPP Aspirants

Spokesperson for the People's National Convention (PNC), Henry Asante, has cautioned Aspirants vying for various positions in the New Patriotic Party to desist from vilifying their opponents. According to him, it does not augur well for the party's integrity and politics in the nation. He urged the NPP faithfuls to unite as they gear up for their Regional elections this Saturday, 25th January, 2014. Speaking on Oman FM, Henry Asante alluded to an ordeal he suffered during his party's general elections to elect candidates into their respective offices. He disclosed that he filed for the General Secretary position in the party but during the general elections was utterly surprised to find out that his name was virtually blotted out from the list of contestants. He also recalled an incident which took place during the time the PNC elected a new flagbearer in the person of Hassan Ayariga. According to him, the party leadership branded him negatively because he was the Spokesperson for Mr. Ayariga's predecessor, Edward Mahama. In view of this, he warned the NPP against the consequences associated with any action undertaken by the aspirants that seeks to vituperate their competitors.
