The Minority Spokesperson on Finance, Dr Akoto Osei has expressed worry at the rate of borrowing by government from the domestic economy. He said the government as at the end of last year borrowed $ 23 billion from the economy, far exceeding what the NPP borrowed at the end of its tenure, which was $ 8 billion. Dr Akoto Osei was speaking at a news conference in Accra on Wednesday. Meanwhile, government has been commenting on the news conference organised on Thursday by the opposition NPP on the state of the economy.
