Cancellation Of GYEEDA Contract Is A Deliberate Attempt To Create More Judgment Debt - John Boadu

Aspiring National Organiser of the main opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), John Boadu has described governments cancellation of contract of service providers under the Ghana Youth Employment and Entrepreneurial Development Agency (GYEEDA) as a deliberate attempt to create more debt for the country. A letter signed by the Chief Director of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Alhaji Abdulai Yakubu indicated that the contract of: Rlg Communication's training module, Asongtaba Cottage Industry & Exchange Programme (ACI&EP) and the Better Ghana Management Services Limited, a subsidiary of Jospong Group, the parent company of Zoomlion, had been terminated. Some political pundits have described the action as a cover up while others have argued that the termination of these contracts can create another judgment debt for the country. However, Minister for Youth and Sports, Elvis Afriyie Ankrah has ruled out the possibility of government facing a judgment debt issue due to the cancellation of the contracts. According to him, government has come to an agreement with the companies before the termination; hence there is no way there will be judgment debts. He told Kwami Sefa-Kayi on Peace FMs Kokrokoo that if we dont take care, we will collapse the nation with how the current government is handling issues. He has wondered why the Minister of Youth and Sports will say that the companies cannot sue government because according to him, every contract can be sued. It is an orchestration by government to get us more indebted to these companies. It is a deliberate attempt because it will amaze me to know that government has no contract with the companies; even so, the contracts cannot be suedI wonder what kind of contract it isit is a deliberate attemptsome time to come these companies can sue government and collect more money. If you claim the contract cannot be sued it means there was no contract he stated.
