Dump Rawlings Accusations Into The Trash Can

The Member of Parliament for the people of Nkoranza North Constituency, Major (Rtd) Derek Oduro appears to have an answer to why former President Jerry John Rawlings is constantly on the back of his immediate successor, John Agyekum Kufuor launching scathing attacks on him. Simple; ex-president Kufuor is regarded more as a statesman than him (Rawlings), hence the endless personal attacks, he says. According to him, the interminable verbal attacks on former President Kufuor are because of the political achievement within his eight (8) years of democratic rule; thus, Ghanaians acknowledge the true statesmanship of Mr Kufuor more than his predecessor, JJ Rawlings. Mr Rawlings has sworn to use every platform he gets to remind Ghanaians of former President Kufuor's alleged corrupt nature as well as the manner in which he plundered state resources while in office. And at the closing ceremony of the regional camp of the International Youth Fellowship at the Adidome Senior High School in the Volta Region, where he was the Guest of Honour, Ex-President Rawlings accused Mr. Kufuor of stealing massively while in office between 2001 and 2008 and went further to describe him as an autocratic thief. But speaking to the issue on Hot Fm, the NPP MP averred that former President Rawlings accusations should be dumped in the trash can. ..when you listen to words of Rawlings, you simply have to ignore him and dump them in a waste-binI wonder if Rawlings constant attacks on Kufuor is sheer jealousy and hatred that Kufuor is recognized as a true statesman, he asserted. He however maintained that Rawlings should be circumspect with his utterances with regards to his justification of killings some past leaders of the country as Ghanaians have not entirely forgiven him (Rawlings) the role he played leading to the killings. He added that Rawlings cannot send former President Kufuor to his grave with his (Rawlings) abusive words as Ghanaians still remember the constant vilification meted out to former late President Mills, leading to his grave eventually.
