The Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) has rated President John Mahama's performance on Tuesday�s interaction with the media as high. The GJA President, Affail Monney, stated that the president �did extremely well� because he is a good communicator. He further mentioned that President Mahama displayed �linguistic mastery� and paid high attention to every question which was posed to him. Despite the Association�s rating, the public has criticized the quality of questions senior journalists asked the president. But speaking on the Citi Breakfast Show, Mr. Monney defended the line of questioning from the journalists. He insisted the �quality of questions yesterday surpasses previous encounters� with past presidents. The president was also criticized for dodging some questions but the presidency maintains President Mahama was straightforward in answering questions that were asked although the scope was narrow. A Presidential Staffer, Dr. Michael Kpesah Whyte in an interview said the questions did not give the public any �sense of measure� and therefore the �president cannot be faulted� for the answers he gave. The president on Tuesday had his first meet the press forum at the Flagstaff House in Accra under the theme: One Year of Responsible, Transparent and Accountable Governance. The press briefing was part of activities marking his one year celebration as President of the Republic of Ghana.
