A Tamale Circuit Court presided over by Senyo Amedahe has issued a bench warrant for the arrest of Abraham Nyidavu, 2012 parliamentary candidate of New Patriotic Party (NPP) of the Pru East constituency in the Brong Ahafo Region. The suspect is reported to have jumped police inquiry bail after his arrest in February last year for defrauding more than 1000 residents of various sums of money in the Saboba District of the Northern Region through false pretexts. The suspect, according to police, owned Mawunyo Financial Services Limited, a micro credit company which he operated in the district, but after amassing an amount of GH276,345, being contributions of most of his clients, he fled the town. A complaint was subsequently lodged with the Northern Regional Police Command by victims, leading to his arrest in February last year from his hideout. He was however granted bail with two sureties to be justified. He later jumped bail and the two sureties were arrested, arraigned before the court and ordered to produce him or in default pay the cost involved. The court also issued a bench warrant for his arrest with reports suggesting he may be hiding in Tema, Ashaiman or Accra. The runaway suspected fraudster, investigations revealed, used to be a television set repairer at Yeji, also in the Brong Ahafo Region.
