Prez Mahama: Ive A Capable Vice-President

Many have raised issues over the competency of Vice President Kwesi Amissah- Arthur in the absence of his boss, President John Dramani Mahama in recent times. To some political opponents, Mr. Amissah Arthur does not show any zeal in the position he holds as the second in command. Others described him as a dull deputy since he has been a banker his entire working life and lacks political charisma. But President Mahama, speaking during the Media Encounter held in connection with his first year in office at the Flagstaff House, impliedly dismissed suggestions that the Veep is incapable of steering affairs of the country in his absence. According to him,, he has always trusted the capabilities of the vice president, that was why he had no qualms going for a Christmas break with his family to Dubai. I did not have a problem when I am even on leave because I know I have a very capable vice president; so the country will always be in good hands at all time, he said.
