Lack Of Funds Crippling The PNC

Lack of funding has become a major constraint, crippling the operation and vibrancy of the Peoples National Convention (PNC). Mr Kabah Abraham, the Ashanti Regional Secretary, said the dire financial situation needed to be tackled with urgency to breathe life into the party. Things would have to change the difficulty with getting money and logistics to keep the PNC functional at all levels clearly could not continue. Speaking at a meeting of the Conference of the Partys Regional Secretaries in Kumasi, he said it was quite worrying that regional and constituency executives were unable to carry out outreach programmes to keep the members and supporters adequately informed about developments in the party because they lacked the means to do just that. This is unhelpful to our partys growth and voter appeal. The meeting provided the platform for the participants to brainstorm on ways to address identified challenges. Mr Abrahams underlined the need for the national executives to ensure unity and to have the courage to implement the partys policies and decisions. The National Executive Committee (NEC) should also as a matter of urgency call a meeting to deliberate and draw up a time-table for the election of new officers at the polling station, constituency, regional and national levels. He said the internal elections must be held on time to allow for adequate preparation towards the 2016 general polls.
