NPP Throws Out Daily Guide Reporter

A REPORTER OF the DAILY GUIDE Newspaper in Kumasi suffered a massive embarrassment as he was virtually thrown out at a New Patriotic Party (NPP) function on Saturday. I.F. Joe Awuah Jnr. was driven from the NPP event in a rather discomforting manner by an angry Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP, Mr F.F. Anto. Leave, leave I said leave, shouted Mr Anto at the journalist in the presence of constituency chairman of the NPP in the Ashanti Region. This unpleasant spectacle occurred minutes after the DAILY GUIDE reporter took his seat at the Asokwa residence of Nana Asare Bediako, the Asokwa Constituency NPP chairman, where the event took place. Aspiring National Chairman of the NPP, Mr Paul Afoko, who was in the Ashanti Region to canvass for votes, was explaining his policies and vision of transforming the NPP to the constituency chairmen of the party. Close aides of Mr Afoko who were also present at the event called the DAILY GUIDE reporter in the eleventh hour to cover the event, a request the journalist obliged. When Joe Awuah Jnr arrived at the venue around 1:30pm, Mr Afoko was seriously explaining his ambitions to make the NPP stronger to confront the 2016 polls, to his audience. The DAILY GUIDE reporter quietly made himself comfortable on one of the seats at the back, and whilst taking notes of what was going on, Mr Anto pounced on him in a brutal fashion. The Ashanti Regional Chairman suddenly shouted at the DAILY GUIDE reporter to leave the event in a manner that rendered the hapless journalist confused and dumbfounded. The NPP chairmans wailing interrupted the event for about 30 minutes as other constituency chairman of the NPP present also joined him to sack the reporter from the event. Mr Paul Afoko then tried to save the poor reporter from further verbal lashings from the NPP chairmen led by Mr Anto. But Mr Afokos effort to save the journalist from further embarrassment failed to yield the desired results as Mr Anto and his cohorts demanded Joe Awuah Jnr to leave the place. At that juncture, Mr George Kofi Adjei aka Geokad the Nhyiaeso Constituency Chairman of the NPP, jumped from his seat to console the humiliated reporter who was then heading to the gate. Geokad was seen yelling at the other NPP chairmen present at the event for the bad manner in which they treated the DAILY GUIDE staff.
