True Prognosis?..."There Is No Hope For 2014" - Atik

Many have expressed optimism about the year 2014. Infact, His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama has assured Ghanaians that 2014 will mark the beginning of many good things for the country. He has pledged to provide dedicated leadership that would enhance the country's socio-economic prosperity and development in 2014 and beyond. But speaking on his expectation for 2014, Policy Analyst of the Peoples National Convention (PNC), Atik Mohammed asserts once the current government "didnt do anything in 2013; 2014 will not be any different". He said on Kokrokoo that I have a very mild expectation for 2014 because if a person says 2014 will be better and looking at governments performance in 2013, there is no basis for anybody to be hopefulone should base their expectation for 2014 on 2013 but if nothing happened in 2013, then there is no basis for hope. What should have given us hope is the budget, but the budget is as hopeless as the year 2013. That is why I feel 2014 is not going to be any different if not worse than 2013. Basing his assertion on the failed promises of the Mahama-led administration in terms of fighting corruption and the alarming rate of unemployment coupled with other factors, he opined that There is no hope for 2014.
