Kabila On Sammy Awuku's 'Tape': Stop Destroying The Image Of Young Men

James Kwabena Bomfeh Jnr also known as Kabila, a former National Youth Organiser for the Convention People's Party (CPP) has asked politicians and journalists who have made up their minds to destroy the hard earned reputation of young men who are trying to create a good image for themselves in the country to put a stop to it. This was in reference to an alleged doctored tape containing a male voice, purported to be that of Samuel Awuku, Deputy Communication Director of the New Patriotic Party(NPP); telling some party Communicators in the United Kingdom that the partys attacks on the nine-member panel of the Supreme Court hearing the election petition case, have been targeted at a particular individual". The Speaker is also heard saying majority of the Justices hearing the case are favorable to the NPP's cause. Kabila, who was outraged at such an act to demoralize Sammy Awuku, told Nana Yaw Kesse, sit-in host of Kokrokoo that the attempt to tarnish the image of the Deputy Communication Director is not helpful. He mentioned editor of the Ghanaian Lens newspaper as one of the perpetrators, fond of publishing such offensive stories and asked him to put a stop. It is not good and I dont know why they are doing that to that young man; it seems like they want to destroy the reputation of the young man. It doesnt help...Kobby Fiagbe is a better journalist than what he is doing... he asserted. Meanwhile, Mr Awuku has issued a statement stating categorically that the said tape and whatever by-products arising are totally fabricated and doctored and that I have never made the kinds of statements contained in the said tape anywhere. I know absolutely nothing about it and I would entreat the general public and the media to treat the supposed tape with the contempt it deserves. He went further to issue a stern warning to any media house that will disregard this call and seek to join this adventure meant to tarnish my image.
