Bury Political Affiliations, Work For Common Good

The Member of Parliament for Sissala West in the Upper West Region, Alhaji Amidu Suleimana, has advised residents in the constituency to bury their political affiliations and work together. He said with the 2012 elections over, we need to go back as we used to be and work as kith and kin and support the government to develop our constituency in particular and the country as a whole. Let us forget about the elections since they have come and gone and look towards the future with hope by closing our ranks, he added. Alhaji Suleimana, who is also the Minister for Roads and Highways, was addressing supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) during a victory rally at Gwollu in the Sissala West District. He said the government would fulfil its promises made to the people during the electioneering and said plans were far advanced for the Hilla Limann Senior High School to commence academic work. He also said communities which did not have electricity would be hooked to the national grid and boreholes constructed for needy communities. He thanked the people for the confidence reposed in him by electing him to represent them in Parliament and gave an assurance of championing their cause at both local and national levels. Alhaji Suleimana expressed gratitude to the constituency executive of the party, chiefs and all those who made it possible for him to be elected. The Deputy Regional Minister, Mr Abu Kasangbata, called on the people to continue to rally behind the NDC since it was the only party in the country that could address their needs. He said the NDC government had over the last four years initiated a number of policies and programmes aimed at improving the living conditions of the people. You must, therefore, not let this opportunity go to waste by throwing your weight behind any party other than the NDC. he added. The District Chief Executive for Sissala West, Mr Moses Luri, gave an assurance that the government would continue to provide the needed infrastructure for the people in the district. A former District Chief Executive for the area, Mr Robert Wavei, called on those elected to leadership positions to not neglect those who helped them to attain such feats and urged Alhaji Amidu Suleimana to operate an opendoor policy.
