Tsikatas Cross-Examination Delay Is Indirectly Affecting The Development of The Country

The National Youth Organizer of the Progressive Peoples Party (PPP), Divine Nkrumah, has attributed the retarding nature of the economy to the fact that the Presidency has been challenged in the Supreme Court. He stressed that this court case has retarded the progress of the country as both foreign and local investors are living in fear to invest their money in the country; in that they fear that the political power may change hands and that their investments may crumble if new government takes over from this administration. Speaking on Okay FM, he again said that many Ghanaian contractors have suspended their contracts as well because they do not know what will be the outcome of the Supreme Court case. In view of these fears which have crippled many investors and contractors, he said that it will be unwise to deliberately take advantage to score undue points in this case; adding that the fellow will be stalling the development of the country as Tsatsu Tsikata has resorted to do in this case by asking repetitive questions which only drawback the progress of the court proceedings. He reiterated that if Tsatsu Tsikata has nothing to ask the witness he should concede for further progress to be made on the case. He urged Tsatsu Tsikata to be furious on the Electoral Commission whose poor conduct in the 2012 elections has caused the credibility of President Mahama and thereby affecting the productivity of the country. The PPP youth organizer said that the NDC has no direct linkage to this case in court and however expected the lawyer for the NDC to question the Electoral Commission on the election processes. He clarified that the organizers of the 2012 election were not the polling agents and Dr. Bawumia, and that the Supreme Court judges should not have included the NDC in this case because it is not clear to establish the interest of the NDC in this court case. He therefore said that if Tsatsu Tsikata has any problem with the pink sheets he should ask the Electoral Commission because the commission has the original copies; adding that huge money was given the EC to organize credible election and so if same serial numbers and codes are parading at difference polling stations it is a serious issue to discuss in court.
