NDC MP: Gloria Akuffos Office Ransack Could Have Been Staged To Create Mischief

The MP for Mfantseman West constituency, Aquinas Quansah, has vehemently denied the allegation by Maxwell Kofi Jumah that the NDC masterminded the office ransack of Gloria Akuffo, the lead counsel for petitioners contesting the validity of the 2012 general elections. It could have been staged to create mischief, he claimed. According to him, it would be dump to anyone to think there would still be evidence in the offices of Gloria Akuffo and therefore break in to tamper with itall their evidence as they themselves put it, is on the face of the pink sheets but when you listen to some of the allegations being made, already one could easily tell that the raid was staged. These allegation and counter allegation come on the back of a break in of petitioners lawyers office on Wednesday by unknown persons. They made away with hard disks and two other computers after ransacking the whole office. The recent raid comes as the second after the first petitioner, Nana Akufo-Addo declared his intention to contest the result of the 2012 general elections, the basis of which the Electoral Commission (EC) declared President John Dramani Mahama, who run on the ticket of the NDC as President. Despite the fact that an investigation into the incident by the police is inconclusive, the former lawmaker for Asokwa was of the view that the NDC must be blamed for the raids because the astute lawyer had been practicing for many years and nothing like this has happened before. She was even one time the Attorney General but she did not encounter these problems so how come she has begun going through these things as soon as she took up this case which would see the NDC out of power, he questioned. In a rebuttal, Hon. Aquinas Quansah vehemently debunked the assertion and further stated that the break in of the office of Gloria Akuffo could have been staged to create mischief because any right thinking person must know that all the evidence are safely in the bosom of the Supreme Court and would therefore be useless attacking the office of the petitioners counsel in the bid to tamper with evidence, as alleged by Kofi Jumah.
