Tony Aidoo: Braggart Sir John Could Cause Chaos With His 'Concert' Behaviour

Former Head of Policy Monitoring and Evaluation at the Presidency, Dr. Tony Aidoo, has stated categorically that if there would be chaos during and after the hearing of the 2012 election petition by the Supreme Court, it would be by the handiwork of the likes of the General Secretary of the NPP, Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie also known as Sir John. According to him, Sir John never gives an accurate account of court proceedings but puts a spin on every issue in his quest to instigate the citizenry. I have kept quiet since the court case began and have watched and listened with keen interest commentary on the matter. I have come to the conclusion that if there would be confusion in this county, it would be caused by the concert and propaganda by braggarts like Sir John who always come to deceive the people of Ghana after the sittings of the Supreme Court. I would like to ask Sir John to tell Ghanaians which polling station has nine registered voters but after voting, the ballot papers turned out to be more than 700 as he claims. If you spew such falsehood you would end up creating problems for the nation, Dr. Aidoo argued. He was reacting to an earlier submission by Sir John after Tuesday's proceedings at the Supreme Court where a decision of the lead counsel of the NDC, Tsatsu Tsikata to introduce fresh pink sheets outside the exhibits submitted by the petitioners stirred controversy during his cross examination on Day 12, was accepted by the panel. The former Deputy Defence Minister in the Rawlings Administration maintained on Asempa FM that, Tsatsu Tsikata was only reiterating points in the pleadings of the third respondent. So the bad faith does not refer to the arrangement of the conduct of the trial among the lawyers. It refers to the nature of the petition. The bad faith being that, there has been selective presentation of polling stations in the form of the pink sheets among the 24,000. The so called 11,000 have been selected and they do not represent the integrity of the facts on the ground, he opined. Dr. Tony Aidoo insisted that, what Lawyer Tsatsu Tsikata therefore sought to do was to lay evidence to prove the bad faith in the nature of petition His comments however, come on the back of several calls, including the Ghana Journalism Associuation (GJA), for media blacklist of the General Secretaries of the NDC and The NPP to curb mischief.
