Heavy rainfall disrupts Buem bye-election

A 55 minute rainfall further compounded the low turnout situation experienced at the Buem bye-elections. The rain with a moderate windy storm rocked the area between 1545 hours and 1640 hours disrupting and delaying the voting process. Mr Mohamed Shani Abukari told the GNA it was too early to determine any extent of the damage done to the election materials. At the end of 1700 hours, only 76 out of 302 registered voters cast their ballot at the District Assembly Hall centre, according to Mr Raphael Dometi, the presiding officer.
