Thousands of supporters drawn from the opposition New Patriotic Party will hit the streets of the Ashanti regional capital, Kumasi on Tuesday in a demonstration dubbed �March for Justice�. The demonstration is in protest against the alleged discrimination of residents in the Ashanti region by the Electoral Commission in the just ended general elections, and is aimed getting the EC to effect changes in what the NPP deems to be discrepancies in results of some constituencies in the region. Having notified the Police, the party believes it has cleared all the appropriate protocol for a peaceful and impactful demonstration today. The demonstrators will converge at four points; the Bantama roundabout, the Labour roundabout, the Santaase roundabout and the Bekwai roundabout and the demonstration will finally end at the Ashanti regional office of the EC. At the end of today's protest march, the NPP, it is believed will submit to the EC a petition it has drafted. The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the party, F. F Antoh, told the media the demonstration against the discrimination of residents in the stronghold of the NPP is long over due since the practice is becoming a norm. He disagreed with suggestions that the planned protest march contradicts the party's stance on the outcome of the December 7 polls, which it intends contesting in court. "We of the NPP are very much prepared. We are inviting our supporters to join is on the march...We have four major points where people will have to assemble. The Bantama roundabout, the Labour roundabout, the Santaase roundabout and the Bekwai roundabout," he revealed. Supporters of the opposition party will converge at Abyss Park in Ashtown Kumasi where their presidential candidate, Nana Akufo-Addo is expected to address them.
