Election 2012: Special Voting Kicks Off Across The Country

The Electoral Commission (EC) will today conduct special voting for security personnel, made up of the Police, Military, prisons, Immigration, Fire Service and others who would be working on election day, this Friday. Members of the Commission are also expected to vote in the special voting. The voting will take place in all 275 constituencies across the country. EC officials have confirmed their readiness for the exercise which starts at 7: am Tuesday morning. Deputy EC director for the Eastern region, Eric Mensah Bonsu in an interview with XYZ News stated that all is set for the special voting to take off. Unfortunately, media personnel who have always been part of the special voting, are not part this year because of a legal requirement which could not be met by the media. Polling stations for this special exercise are located at designated points including police stations and the headquarters of the Immigration, Fire Service, Prisons and the Military.
