Verification Machines Distributed Without Interference - EC

The Electoral Commission has dismissed media reports and concerns raised by some political parties that the electoral materials to be used for the December elections were compromised during the distribution phase. Several political parties have raised concerns over the manner in which the ballot papers and verification materials were being dispatched. The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has for example called on the EC to involve party agents as a means of streamlining the whole process. The Acting Public Relations Officer for the EC, Christian Owusu Parry has however indicated to Cti News that the machines had already been transported without any problems. What we have done with the machines is that the data of the voters in the constituency have been uploaded onto the devices... what is contained on the machines is the information we have, which is the information we have on the register so it is nothing but the data that has been electronically uploaded unto the device so nobody will achieve anything. The Electoral Commission has also officially announced that campaigning for all political parties ends on Wednesday, December 5.
