Amakye Has Been Exposed - John Jinapor

The surprises predicted ahead of the 2012 election seem to be getting interesting as the days go by with 77 days more to election day. The latest twist after the confirmation of the Vice President as running mate to President Mahama is the condemnation of what seems an endorsement by political analyst and lecturer at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kwasi Amakye Boateng, of NPP running mate Mahamudu Bawumia over Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur. Spokesperson of President John Mahama, John Jinapor believes Mr Amakye Boateng has compromised his integrity as an analyst by passing judgement on President Mahama and Amissah Arthur, further describing them as lacking leadership qualities and therefore likely to lose the upcoming general elections. Mr. John Jinapor says Mr. Amakye has been exposed once again as an N.P.P sympathizer. Speaking on Nea-Mehunu, a political program hosted by Afia Pokua on Adom FM, Mr. Jinapor said We the N.D.C are not surprised by Amakye Boatengs analysis because on several occasions he has exhibited his bias towards the opposition, having even gone ahead to contest as an N.P.P parliamentary candidate in the past. The Presidents spokesperson said is it unacceptable for Mr Amakye Boateng to indicate that he prefers Bawumia over Amissah Arthur because the latter is not charismatic. Mr. Amakye Boateng had stated earlier, citing two research done earlier in the school that the N.D.Cs running mate will not add any vote to the ticket by his campaign activities or charisma (which he indicated the vice president lacked). He could however attract some votes with his tribal links to the central region as well as interest groups and individuals who seek to benefit from the continuous stay in office of the vice president. The analyst said even the vice president himself is aware that he lacks charisma. He also indicted vice president Amissah Arthur for what he described as terrible decisions he took whiles in charge of the Bank of Ghana, and questioned the ability of the Vice President to take critical and crucial decisions if voted into office where the pressure of fixing the nations ailing economy will be greater. Turning to the NPP, he commended Nana Akufo-Addo for selecting Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as his running mate, arguing that the former Deputy Governor of the central bank has the qualities and ability to solve Ghanas economic woes and can sway the floating voters to the N.P.P.
