"NDC Planning Election 2012 Without Rawlingses"

A Political Scientist with the University of Ghana, Ransford Gyampoh says the boycott of the June 4th celebration by executives of the NDC and government is an indication that the party is beginning to brace itself for the task of campaigning without Mr. Rawlings in the impending polls. Mr. Gyampoh in an interview with XYZ News said the actions of the Rawlingses further confirm the perception of the strained relationship between them and the party. It is clear that is there is a strain relation between the founder of the NDC and party executives. The boycott makes things clear Mr Gyampoh said adding I believe that they (NDC) may have braced themselves for that so lets see how they are going to win the elections without the Rawlingses. Meanwhile, the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) says it is confident of restoring the strained relations with its founder Jerry John Rawlings as it campaigns to win the December elections. At a rally to commemorate the June 4th uprising, the ex-President accused the Mills administration of being in a ditch because it has rejected the ideals of the party. According to Mr. Rawlings, the NDC administration has already lost the December elections. But National Organizer of the party Ludwig Hlodze said the Mills administration will win the elections because of its unprecedented development. As a government we have a lot of work done in our favour that can win us this election. Mr. Hlodze said adding that as a government we have delivered on most of our promises. We have done a lot of development in the communities. The people of Ghana will look out for developments in their area and that is what will win us the election. He added As a party we are going through some difficult moment but we will go through those difficult moments and solve our problems.
