Nana Addo Leads Mills With 44% In Latest Synovate Poll

A national opinion poll conducted by international research organization, Synovate, says the 2012 Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, will get 44 percent to President Mills� 36 percent if elections were held today. However, if elections were held today Nana Akufo-Addo would lead but still fall short of the more than 50% mark required for outright victory. The opinion poll was carried out between April and May this year surveyed a total of 1,985 respondents. When the question, �What is your preferred political party?� was posed to respondents the NPP polled 43%, NDC 36%, PPP 5%, CPP 4% and the PNC 1%. The Synovate sampling also has the NPP flagbearer leading in three out of the four swing regions, with President Mills gaining more popularity in Central region with 44%. However, President Mills beat Nana Addo in the Volta, Northern and Upper East regions. Out of 2,023 respondents sampled, 21 percent considered Health as the most important issue in Ghana. 20 percent percent considered Employment as the most important, Education 18 percent, Economy 17 percent, Corruption 8 percent, Inflation 7 percent, Electricity 4 percent and 1 percent considered Politics as the least important issue in the country.
