Dr. Bawumia Speaks This Evening...What To Expect

The potentials for this economy is huge; we have to make use of the opportunities that God has given us and the international economic environment to deliver jobs and hope for our youth and better living standards, says Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the 2012 running mate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. Dr Mahamudu Bawumia is expected to deliver the 5th edition of the Ferdinand Ayim Memorial Lectures dubbed the true statement of the economy in a few hours time. The lecture will provide a detailed explanation of the current state of the countrys economy and what could have been done to improve the present economic situation. According to Dr Bawumia, issues of the state of the economy are of profound interest to every Ghanaian because it affects the day to day activities of each individual in the country, adding that Ghanaians have heard so much about unprecedented achievements in growth, reserve accumulation or inflation but people are still suffering and life is getting harder. the exchange rate is in free fall, so what is the true state of the economy and what is the data telling us? I will take the opportunity to go into the data and analysis to try and explain in my own way what the data is saying and why the cedi is deflating at a very alarming rate, he told Kwami Sefa Kayi on PeaceFMs Kokrokoo Morning Show today. Dr. Bawumia pointed out that he will also delve into why the economy which is supposed to be booming is not creating any jobs and why people are still suffering. The economic guru further indicated that the NPP in 2012 will bring more energy, renewed vigor and better ideas for economic transformation. the NPP will try to explain better, be very open and more transparent to the people of Ghana in what they can deliver and what Nana Akuffo-Addos vision iswe hope to run a very idea based and more grassroots based campaign with hopes that they will receive more support from the people of Ghana.Ghanaians have had the opportunity to observe the NDC government in action and they will be able to compare what the NPP delivered and what the NDC has been able to deliver.a lot of promises were made by the NDC to Ghanaians and they were given the opportunity to prove themselves but unfortunately those promise have not been delivered, Dr Bawumia said.
