Group To Drag CHRAJ Boss To Court Today

An advocacy group, Centre for National Affairs, (CAN) is dragging the Head of the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice to Court today. The group wants Lauretta Lamptey to resign as a Board Member of the Ghana Commercial Bank, (GCB). According to the group, Lauretta Lamptey is violating Article 221 of the 1992 Constitution as well as CHRAJ Act 456 which prohibit a Commissioner from occupying any other public position once in office. The Ghana Integrity Initiative, which is the local arm of Transparency International, has joined the call for the CHRAJ boss to resign. A senior Policy Analyst with the Centre for National Affairs, Rocky Obeng in an interview with XYZ News said Lauretta Lampteys failure to resign on Tuesday, April 24, as she had indicated to them in their private discussions is what is urging the group to resort to the court.
