Nii Lantey Vows To Fight Fake Odododiodoo Electorates

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary candidate for the Odododiodoo Constituency, Nii Lantey Vanderpuye has stated that he will continue to protest attempts by some electorates who live outside the electoral area to register at the constituency. The Greater Accra regional communications director of the New Patriotic Party, Michael Ampong has accused Mr. Vanderpuye of preventing electorates with Akan names from going through the biometric registration processes in the constituency. According to Michael Ampong, the Mr. Vanderpuyes action is a deliberate one targeted at disenfranchising potential members of the NPP. However, speaking to XYZ News on Wednesday, Mr. Vanderpuye categorically dismissed the allegations saying he only prevented people who were not from the constituency to register. He added that he is only exercising his right to challenge the eligibility of electorates in the constituency. The issue is that they are trying to bring people who dont live within the electoral area and the constituency to register and this we will not allow. But Michael Ampong insists the determination of eligible electorate should be determined by the Electoral Commission and not Presidential aide Nii Lantey Vanderpuije.
