Former Ghana Football Association (GFA) President, Kwesi Nyantakyi is set to appeal to sports highest court to overturn his life-time ban from football related activities.
The 50 year old, who was also FIFA Council member and CAF's first Vice President, suffered the major blow on Tuesday, after almost four months since he was captured in an investigative documentary by Ghanaian investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas engaging in corrupt and bribery activities.
On Tuesday, the West African nation was thrown into a state of shock after the world’s football governing body, FIFA, banned Mr. Nyantakyi from all football-related activities for life and fined 500,000 Swiss francs (£390,000).
FIFA adjudicatory chamber found Nyantakyi “guilty of having violated art. 19 (Conflicts of interest), art. 21 (Bribery and corruption) and art. 22 (Commission) of the FIFA Code of Ethics, 2012 edition.”
The troubled Wa All Stars bankroller was initially suspended on 8 June for 90 days by the adjudicatory chamber of FIFA’s Ethics Committee and saw his ban extended to extra 45 days on 5th September, 2018.
"I wish to express my shock and deep sadness after receiving the decision from the FIFA Ethics Adjudicatory Committee on Tuesday. My legal advisors are under my instructions to urgently appeal the decision as I think it was unfair, harsh and unwarranted. I will use all the legal channels available to seek redress and establish the facts I presented to the committee.
"Even though I have already resigned from all my football positions, it is important I establish the facts with the sole aim of clearing my name. At this moment I am unable to provide any further details as my lawyers are reviewing the facts for appeal at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). I wish to express my sincere gratitude to the people of Ghana, Africa and indeed across the globe for the overwhelming support and outpouring of sympathy," he said.

I find it difficult to understand people who say nyantakyi has brought disgraced to Ghana. 1. nyantakyi was not busted by any foreigner to have been involved in any real time act. 2. a Ghanaian and his assigns deliberately focused on him, set him up and black mailed him simply because they thought nyantakyi has stayed in power for long periods. so if what happened is disgraceful to this country then whom shd we blame? it shd be Anas, Randy, Kwaku Baako and other sports journalists as well as other people linked to it. the most annoying thing is that those behind this set up also take bribe and almost made their entire lives through taking bribe esp Anas and Kwaku baako.
Can you people leave this man alone to have his peace of mind Abaa,. is he not Better than the politicians in this country who steals government money more than what you guys claim, if you were in His postilion you might even do worse than he did kraaaa. yes he has been banned but remember what you do in the dark will soon come out to light and you will learn to keep quite when you see someones nakedness. all those condemning him you know the worse things you've been doing secretly just that is not out so u have your head to eat in again just pray it doesn't come out and u will look miserable more than Nyantakyi. crucify him if you think you are most perfect and righteous. good luck to you all.
Nyantakyi please don't worry us. You have disgrace this nation enough.
ur greediness caused all these. in ur next life u must learn not to be greedy. FIFA is a corrupt organization we all know that but they will never want to have anyone who has corruption tag around his neck. if they did it to a whole Blatter then who are you? man go park urself somewhere. instead of wasting ur time and resources trying to appeal just take the one who reported u to FIFA to Benin for judgement. any appeal will be unsuccessful.
this guy is really ***barred word***.suddenly he has a mouth.where has he been hiding all These months.is the ***barred word*** thug of a crook Aware of the damade he has caused the Nation we would have a better Country should our System be dealing with crooks like this ***barred word*** severely
Good luck, dude.
Let ken represent u before FIFA court.
When you were taking the thing didn't you know that one day for @@@@@ and another day for owner. Apeal!!!!! Go and waist the rest of your money. Just pay and move on. It is just a birthday gift. And it is peanut for you considering the amount you demanded. Remember the formula is 3.2.1 Ensure to remove Nana and Bawumia from your pocket cos now I doubt whether they can see well. Since they are still in your pocket. For the meantime we will be premiering a film titled Nyantakyi part one and two. You are invited to come and direct it cos you know how it is done.
Morning after you were announced CAF 1st Vice, resign from GFA, resign from WAFU, buy a second home in Morocco, put your beautiful angels in a French School, and move on. The money you would have made at CAF + FIFA Council Member plus all you have stacked over the years was more than plenty. I never meet KNyantakyi, but I was a HUGE admirer of how he has rose through the ranks t the positions he was in, and this whole issue breaks my heart. We are all not angels, but we must learn to cut our losses and move on, before our losses catch up with us. Forget the appeal, just cut your losses and move on. As for that Anas, only God can judge us. Fire your legal advisors cause you can never win against FIFA, even governments can't. They never advised you when it mattered the most, now is a usele.s.s time for their damage control advisory.
