Ghana defender Jonathan Mensah is lamenting over his unavailability for Columbus Crew in their season finale against Minnesota United later today (Sunday).
Mensah attracted a yellow card in Crew's 1-2 loss to Orlando City, which means he is suspended for the game against Minnesota.
The centre-back said he was disappointed he cannot feature this weekend because the Minnesota game was an encounter he was looking up to.
“Yeah, a little disappointed,” Mensah told US tabloid Dispatch.
“It happened to be last game and now I’m going to miss the last one, but I’m going to be behind the team whether I’m playing or not. Whatever the team does, I’m going to be part of it. I’ll be in the stands cheering for the team and we just hope for the best.”
“I am training like everything is normal. I just need to push the other guys because in these knockout games, you lose, you go home. We’re gonna go hard and we’re gonna do our best to win this game.”
“It’s crazy, you know? Those kinds of games you win or you go home so you’re putting everything on the line. You win, you’re in, you lose, you go home” he added.
Mensah has been a pillar at the back for Crew this season playing 27 games and scoring one goal.
