Telecommunication network MTN Ghana has threatened to withdraw their sponsorship deal with Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko, according to report in the media.
MTN are said to be considering to abrogate its contract with the Porcupine Warriors following the Club’s decision to partake in the Unity match which was Championed by fierce rivals Vodafone.
The Vodafone Unity match which was aimed at promoting Peace in the country ahead of the November polls paraded several World Stars including ex-Nigerian internationals Yakubu Ayibgeni and Nwankwo Kanu.
The game also had the likes of ex-Dutch star Edger Davis, former England internationals Sol Campbell and Emil Heskey as well as Cameroonian international Alex Song.
Report are however rife that MTN are planning to cancel the deal with Kotoko after the Club allegedly breached the contract which indicate the team must wear official jersey’s with branded MTN logo in any game.
Both parties are however expected to release a statement on the said report in the coming days.
MTN Ghana cough out a reported GHC50,000 every month as part f the deal with Kotoko.
